Iciligorgia schrammi, common name, deepwater sea fan a species of gorgonia sea fan in the family Melithaeidae. It is found in tropical parts of the Atlantic Ocean.
Found in the Atlantic Ocean, this species ranges from south Florida southwards to Brazil, and in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
Iciligorgia schrammi normally grows at depths from 3 to 368 metres. They live on vertical walls, standing out perpendicularly, and can also grow in deep water where the water is clear and the current high on slope breaks.
Please Note: Our finger claw sponges, gorgonians, and sea fans are made using a proprietary foamy urethane that gives them buoyancy in the water column, this allows them to gently move with the water current. THEY WILL FLOAT if not secured to a weighted structure.
